The reason for creating this site is to provide those interested in philately with an idea of the stamps available from Africa and to share some items from my modest personal collection with fellow philatelists worldwide.

I started collecting used stamps per say, soon adding Southern African mint stamps, plates, first day covers, postcards, date stamp cards and maximum cards. A broad thematic collection was also in progress. Realizing the immensity of this approach, I decided to curtail my collecting habits and concentrate on first day covers both official and private.

My thematic collection was narrowed down to two subjects, namely aviation and butterfly’s. Only mint stamps can be found in my thematic collection now. Consequently this left me with a lot of unused material giving rise to the idea of expanding the site to include swap and commerce trading.

Browsing through the site one will find postal stationary and stamps from country’s in Africa. Under the various sections is listed Southern African first day covers, mint plates, maximum cards, official postcards and official date stamp cards.Also listed are private first day covers I have in stock.
